Happy New Year

2015 is shaping up to be an interesting year.
My second one person show with Artworld Fine Art is scheduled for April.  I’ll be sending out details and invitations and I’m hoping a lot of people will attend.
Artworld’s move to the larger space at Kipling and Evans has proven to be a great success and Donna Child and her staff have lots of plans for the future.
I am also planning on collaborating with my immensely talented nephew, Kevin Taylor on my first new graphic novel in six years.
The series, “Wordsmith” which I illustrated 30 years ago and was written by Dave Darrigo is being collected in a large volume by Dover Publications.
One of my other series, “Silencers,” written by Mark Askwith is with an agent and currently be shopped around as a potential television series.

The Academy of Realist Art

“Academy of Realist Art”
I visited the A.R.A. again yesterday.  The place fascinates me.  It’s time travelling to the 19th century.  I am in awe of their discipline and dedication.  I’m not sure such an approach to picture making would suit my personality, but I’d sure like to give it a shot.

Painting the Model

Yesterday I met with a group of close friends for a painting session at Neilson Park Creative Centre.  We had a terrific model.
It is always a real challenge to paint a model from life, but it can be really rewarding.

City Sounds, 12×48

I did most of the work on this one in my studio and then completed it in John Leonard’s open studio workshop at Neilson Park Creative Centre. Thank you, Quan Steele for suggesting the title.
